Return
to the Garden
by Rivka Leah Dubitsky, B'erot student
2001-2002
A return to the garden knowing
deeply the source
Searching, searching? No more
Roots planted firmly in sacred earth
Home again, home again!
To where the ner tamid burns always
In our land, our temple, our hearts.
Rebuilding the kodesh hakedoshim, brick by Jerusalem stone brick.
Heaven and earth singing together passionately in our daily bread.
One tribe; tahor, bachur
600, 000 different shades of God blended peacefully together
In righteous, wise, and joyous prayer.
Warm gentle waves returning to shore after years lost at sea.
To the rhythms of God's universe, moving we
Through sunlit days and moonlit nights,
Spinning by, starry-eyed
Through the yearly spi-ral cy-cle
Of always moving high-er and closer to truth.
Chasing rainbows only to find
The pot of gold that is buried
Right in our very own hearts.
Learning the art of loving silently without hands.
Sharing the trees' obligation to bear proud, holy fruit.
Every year growing sturdier, more accepting, and more abundant.
Knowing ever more surely when to plant fresh, eager seeds
And harvest mature, learned fruits
Feeling ever more deeply
the dance of the soul-flame
United ecstatically with God,
Leaving just enough room to resonate
In multi-dimensional harmony
With another whole soul.
(R)evolutionary seekers unite!
