Holy
Song Concert with Tziona Achishena
Wednesday,
August 31st
Bat
Ayin Community Center
Women
of all ages participated in abeautiful and inspiring evening
of singing, dancing, and Torah during Midreshet Berot
Bat Ayin's end-of-summer concert featuring talented alumnae
Tziona Achishena Zilbershtein, Devorah Gila Berkowitz, and Hadassah
Lee. The concert opened with Hadassah singing songs she wrote
over the last year while she was learning at B'erot. Devorah
Gila followed with some very moving chants/songs played on guitar
and drum.
Midreshet Berot Director Rebbetzin Chana Bracha Siegelbaum then
spoke about the ability of our true inner essence to flow out
of us through song, and how music has the capability to touch
parts of our soul that are deep within us.
Tziona
Achishena proceeded to lead us to great heights of simcha through
guitar, drumming, responsive singing, and dancing. The
room came alive when we all began circle and free dancing to
the beautiful melodies that flowed out of each woman.
Yet
even in the height of our joyous celebration, we reflected on
our most recent sad events in Eretz Yisrael. At the end of the
evening it truly felt like we had been able to bring a little
more of HaShems kedusha down to our world through our
joyous celebration as women. We may have some difficult things
to deal with now as Am Yisrael, but we hope our fervent desire
to attach ourselves to HaShem may have helped in the geulah.
