Rescue Remedy from Rock Roses (that grow wild everywhere in Bat Ayin)

·             On a clear cloudless day, take a clear glass bowl almost full of good water.

·             Pick enough rock rose petals to sprinkle on top of water until the whole water surface is covered. Don't push the leaves under.

·             Leave the bowl for 4 hours in a sunny place. Let it rest outside uncovered in an open field or in a place that won't get shade.

·             With a wooden stick flip off the petals. (Don't use metal or your fingers.) 

·             Pour water in clean jar with a little teaspoon of alcohol to preserve it. This is your mother tincture.

·             Take 4 drops of mother tincture and put in water bottle.

·             Fill bottle with water and a few drops of alcohol. This is your rescue remedy.

 

·             Use 4 drops of rescue remedy under the tongue or in a glass of water. It can't harm to drink it every day as prevention.

 

Rescue remedy is good against trauma anxiety, chock and fear.

 

Rose Water

·       Pick petals and check for bugs.

·       Put the petals in a pyrex bowl.

·       Fill a pot with the rose petals to the brim, then add as much water in pot as can fit, leaving only enough space so it won't boil over.

·       Boil and let simmer covered on lowest heat for 45 min - 1 hour.

 

Rose Water is refreshing on a hot summer day.

 

Facial Cream

1 oz or 1/8 cup coconut oil/cocoa butter

1/2 oz beeswax (16g)

3-4 oz (1/2 cup) almond oil or jojoba oil

1 oz rose water

1-2 drops of essential lavender oil

·       Mix everything in blender.

·       Put it in a small jar, and refrigerate.

 

Will moisturize your face and keep your skin youthful.

 

Myrtle Oil

·       Harvest Hadas (Myrtle) branches when flowers are found on the plant.

·       Fill a quarter of a bottle with the plant newly cut, add almond oil to the top of the bottle and close with a cork.

·       Leave the bottle in the windowsill in a sunny spot for 10 days shake it every day.

·       Strain through a muslin cloth or paper filter and return to bottle.

·       In order that the oil will keep add a drop of E vitamin or a little wheat-germ oil. 

 

Rub on skin to treat various skin problems, and heal infections and soars.

 

Plantain Salve

·       Make Plantain oil by filling a jar with macerated plantain leaves and pouring olive oil to fill the jar completely.

·       Leave it in sunny windowsill for 10 days, then strain the oil.

·       Add 2 ounces of beeswax to 5 ounces of oil (2 ½ times more oil than beeswax.)

·       Melt together in pot on low heat, add 1-2 drops of essential lavender oil and pour into jars for storage.

·       Plantain salve does not need to be refrigerated.

 

Plantain Salve is good against insect bites, dry skin and skin irritations.

 

  Zaatar (Hyssop Mixture)

·       Pick hyssop leaves when young and fresh.

·       Dry the leaves by hanging them upside down.

·       Remove the stalks and mix the leaves with toasted sesame seeds and a little salt. (Optionally add a little of the sumac spice).

·       Grind the herbs in food processor, and you have your Zaatar ready to mix with olive oil and serve as a dip for whole-wheat bread, grains and vegetables.

 

Zaatar is good for the brain and the memory. It is also good against stomachache, nausea, colds, earaches, cough, headaches, intestinal worms, and infected gums.
